Dan Lockton is a Researcher at the School of Design at the Royal College of Art in England.
Dan specialises in the links between design, understanding, and human action, particularly with respect to behaviour change for social and environmental benefit.
His research focuses on novel interfaces for energy monitoring and other systems in the home, exploring people’s understanding of (and interaction with) systems from the environment to government, and more nuanced approaches to the field of design for behaviour change.
For his PhD at Brunel, he developed Design with Intent, a multidisciplinary toolkit for designers working on behaviour change. Dan also has an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge and a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Design Engineering from Brunel.
