Solving UI problems in the information age

Data visualization and UI work hand-in-hand to democratize access to data. But as these fields expand at a head-swimming rate (along with user expectations) it’s important to consider the ways in which humans interact with data and how we, as designers, are able to tailor their experience so they can more easily explore, learn, and make change. How can we invite people into a deeply data-rich experience without drowning them in superfluous detail? How can we create interactive maps that really move people?

In this talk, Audree will give you a peek behind the curtain of major dataviz projects for National Geographic, HP, the City of Montreal and others, how she solved UX issues as they emerged, and her four key ways to harness the power of data.
